One of a kind. At 4.5 km long, the promenade follows much of the old railway line and connects Varazze to nearby Cogoleto. It is possible to admire railway artefacts as well as typical Mediterranean vegetation and fauna. It is also an ideal place for a swim, suggestive dives or simply for a walk or a bike ride (there is a bike path).
The Beigua Geopark is a huge green area between the urban centres of Genoa, Savona and Alessandria. It is rich in history, landscapes, natural beauty, culture, opportunities for recreation, mountain sports, and environmental education, with 18,000 hectares of woods, grasslands, crystal-clear watercourses and alpine peaks. Recognised as a Regional Park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is part of the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri.
The fortress is an evocative integration of museum space and archaeological area, a symbol of Savona and which housed Giuseppe Mazzini and Silvio Pellico in its prisons. Today it is also a venue for events, shows and weddings.
