Home to important national and European regattas, Varazze boasts a long sailing tradition.
Get in touch with the Varazze Club Nautico, a sailing club founded back in 1919.
You can attend sailing courses or, for the more experienced, rent different types of boats including OPTIMIST, L'EQUIPE, 420, 470. Activity is unceasing throughout the year.
Outdoor
Downhill, Enduro, Motocross, Paragliding and many other activities can be done in the Varazze area, which features not only the sea, but also a splendid hinterland that is a destination for many adventurous sportsmen. In addition, Varazze hosts the Outdoor Festival every year, for enthusiasts and those who want to approach these disciplines.
Europe Promenade
One of a kind. At 4.5 km long, the promenade follows much of the old railway line and connects Varazze to nearby Cogoleto. It is possible to admire railway artefacts as well as typical Mediterranean vegetation and fauna. It is also an ideal place for a swim, suggestive dives or simply for a walk or a bike ride (there is a bike path).
Beigua Park
The Beigua Geopark is a huge green area between the urban centres of Genoa, Savona and Alessandria. It is rich in history, landscapes, natural beauty, culture, opportunities for recreation, mountain sports, and environmental education, with 18,000 hectares of woods, grasslands, crystal-clear watercourses and alpine peaks. Recognised as a Regional Park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is part of the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri.
Priamar Fortress
The fortress is an evocative integration of museum space and archaeological area, a symbol of Savona and which housed Giuseppe Mazzini and Silvio Pellico in its prisons. Today it is also a venue for events, shows and weddings.
Toirano and Borgio Verezzi Caves
The caves of Toirano and Borgio Verezzi are one of the most important speleo-tourist itineraries in Italy, not only for the extraordinary succession of halls, corridors and ponds, but also for the bear cemetery and the traces of prehistoric hunters from around 12,000 years ago.
